Ten million in just this area. A giant civilization wiped out by deforestation. And did we learn from that? :(

I'm from Guatemala.. I wonder what happened to all of them.. 10 million people just vanished something doesn't add up...

Really cool. In my next life I want to be an archaeologist.

Well the history teachers won't ever teach us about prior civilizations from sumerians to Gobi to Mayan ... and having artifacts from our past all get locked away, when all in the world should see them.

Why can't they just leave them alone. They're not bothering you so why bother them. Stop trying to see what you can take again you might find yourself shot.

Professor Ivan Van Sertima discussed this on PBS in the late 80's you can all YouTube it. There's reasons to believe the Olmecs helped this to happen. This isn't undiscovered, this is unacknowledged.

Just a thought. Limited to no technology and yet they were able to support that amount of population. Food, hygiene, transportation, social rule. Consider the extent of human discipline.

The Kuclakan temple in Chichen Itza has been named the New Seventh Wonder Of The World. And it's also a UNICEF site.

Guatemala, amazing country. I have been in el Tikal where the Maya’s ruins where found. It’s incredible and I have climbed to the top of one pyramid looking over the forest.

Thank you Spain for killing so many and obscuring history. But hey they came away with so much wealth to hoard and slaves to sell.

In 1492, the population of Paris was about 200,000. There were cities in South America with over a million. There's much to discover there.

Yes! Temple 4 the one that I climbed with Iris sleeping on the sling, it’s the tallest. But it is only 30% above surface!!!!! It’s amazing!

Note.....a huge population disintegrated. Was it not sustainable in this time? Is this what we are facing in our times. Too many people.

Now to go and tear up the jungle to find out more about the forgotten past... Because we've learned our lessons from history right?

it seems there is speculation that just because they were "stone age people" they wouldnt be able to sustain a population that high..... they were obviously highly advanced. the fact that they did not utilize metal tools and didnt directly follow the "western" teechnological pattern is irrelevent. it is simply one innovation they did not aquire by the time of european colonization. in many ways they were more advanced

Hope they dont destroy nature, and people that might still live there. I love arqueological sites, but that is the risk.

I believe there’s a memo coming out claiming that these “researchers” are guilty of collusion with Russian Operatives.

Funny, last year they told us a kid found it through a different method, guess they forgot to give him credit?

That's actually an enouraging report. It goes to show how nature can recapture itself. Although we don't know what happened to the Mayans, where or why they disappeared, all that they created had nearly been completely recatured by nature. I fear that in our case it may take much longer because we have destroyed so much of nature through pollution and deforestation.

Do we know the age of all these structures, or could they be earlier than the assumed time-frame of Mayan civilization?

The fbvideo.com is a website where you can collect and download Facebook videos for free. The videos can be downloaded straight from Facebook and users can download them in an mp4 format in HD or SD. The latter one is a smaller sized mp4 format. The mp4 format can be played on basically all players and it is one of the most popular video formats, so playing it cannot cause too much of a problem.

Important: fbvideo.com works with the Facebook Graph API but other than that, it has nothing to do with the social media website. The videos can be found on the servers of Facebook.
