The dogs should get formal military recognition...they are just as much a soldier as the humans sent to war...he probably saved loads of lives.

Every dog bórn, deserves this kind of respect because they are born to love, protect and serve: our earth angels who prefer fur to wings. 💖💖💖

I still believe the dogs of World War Two and of yhe Vietnam War were abandoned and left to die in the Jungles after the military left. Now, I hope we have a better appreciation of these brave dogs and bring them all home to a easy and kind retirement. Thank you K9s!!!!!!!

You were fortunate to be able to have him during his well earned retirement and yours. I love seeing the dogs with their owners for as long. as they can. Thank you both for your dedication to the sacrifices you have had to make for freedom and liberty.

So sad. I get so upset when an animal has to be put down. And it to be a veteran animal really makes me sad. God has a special place for these furry veterans. RIP.

Samuel Luce, did you not read that the dog had aggressive cancer? I'm as sure the dog would be outside playing with kids. So before you criticize someone for being compassionate and putting dog down, INSTEAD of letting him suffer, be GRATEFUL he had such a loving family to spend his last few years with.

AS he should have. Dogs are often times more honest and braver than some humans and deserve to be laid to rest with all the honors of any person. God bless you young brave and farewell on your trip home.

I am glad the pup was taken care of after retiring from service. This is a living creature and needs love and attention just like humans. The other stuff is just for humans to feel better.

Very sad for a hero to suffer at the end of his life. At least he was loved and will not be forgotten. Rest in peach sweet hero !

It's high time that military working dogs get their due diligence. Many have been left behind in war-torn countries after they bravely saved the lives of many soldiers. Shame for treating them this way. Immoral and disgusting to allow this to happen. Disgrace isn't necessarily felt by those who cause it. I am happy, that this dog is being honored and respected. After all, he earned it!

Stop exploiting these poor animals. They are here for our love not to fight crime. And don’t act like a military police funeral makes up for this poor dogs death. He didn’t deserve to die. He should have been out in someone’s back yard playing fetch
